A structured development process helps brands shorten sampling cycles, control cost and reduce production risk. The key is to make material, workmanship and approval standards explicit before bulk production.
Prepare the design brief
Share drawings or reference images together with product type, target customer, retail price, destination market and estimated quantity. This helps the supplier recommend realistic pearl specifications, findings and processes.
Confirm materials and quotation
Define pearl type, size, shape, color, luster and surface expectation. Record metal, plating, chain length, clasp, post and packaging requirements. Separate sample, tooling, testing, packaging and freight costs in the quotation.
Review samples and pre-production approval
Assess appearance, dimensions, comfort, closure function, strength and packaging fit. Consolidate revision notes. The approved pre-production sample should record final materials, logo placement, tolerances and acceptable natural variation.
Production, inspection and delivery
Use incoming, in-process and pre-shipment checks when appropriate. Inspect matching, drilling, bonding, findings, quantity, labels and protective packaging. Confirm carton marks and packing quantities before dispatch.
