Reconfirm the approved specification
Review pearl type, size, shape, color, luster, surface tolerance, drilling, findings, construction, length, packaging and quantity. Update document revision numbers and remove obsolete instructions so the factory has one authoritative specification.
List changes explicitly
Record changes to quantity, metal, plating, clasp, thread, dimensions, packaging or labeling. State what must remain unchanged. Small substitutions can alter fit, color balance or cost, so require written approval before production.
Compare the pearl batch
Place the proposed pearls beside the retained sample under consistent light. Review wide photos, close-ups and video. If the original batch is unavailable, agree which attributes have priority and whether the new production lot must remain separate from older inventory.
Repeat functional checks
Do not skip clasp operation, post alignment, adhesive strength, knotting, strand length and packaging tests because the design was made before. Material suppliers, operators or findings may have changed, and repeat orders can still develop new defects.
Close the inspection loop
Approve a pre-production sample when changes are material, then define pre-shipment sampling and defect handling. Save final photos, carton counts and batch identifiers. After receipt, compare incoming goods promptly and report issues with measurable evidence.
Frequently asked questions
Do repeat orders need a new sample?
Use a new sample when the pearl batch, findings, construction, packaging or specification changes materially.
What if the original pearl batch is gone?
Approve a new compatible batch against retained evidence and document accepted differences.
Can the same SKU contain two pearl batches?
It can, but buyers should approve visual compatibility or separate lots to prevent inconsistent customer experience.
